Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
ECT is used in the treatment of depression, mania and some forms of schizophrenia.
It is used in the treatment of depression when other therapies, such as antidepressants, haven’t been effective.
ECT is administered via inpatient services and as an outpatient. Your psychiatrist will discuss the option of ECT should it be considered the best treatment option available for you.
