For Psychiatry Appointments:
A referral is required from a GP or treating Psychiatrist, addressed to either; a named Credentialed Pine Rivers Private Hospital Psychiatrist or to ‘Pine Rivers Private Psychiatrist’.

Patients can self-refer for our psychology or social work services and will be charged privately.
For patients wishing to see a psychologist or social work with the use of a Mental Health Care Plan, a GP referral is required to be sent with your Care Plan.
All referrals will be reviewed by clinicians prior to booking.
Please note:
We are unable to indicate appointment availability or waiting times until a referral has been received, reviewed and accepted/declined by the specialist / clinican. You will be contacted by our staff about the status of your referral once it has been reviewed.

Psychiatric Appointments:
A referral is required for all psychiatric services at Pine Rivers Private Hospital. You can get a referral from you GP or from a psychiatrist that you are currently seeing and will need to be directed to a Psychiatrist that is credentialed to admit at our hospital.
A GP referral will last for 12 months from the day of your first appointment with your specialist. You can also request an “Indefinite Referral” from your GP which we accept and encourage for patients who have ongoing psychiatric care requirements.
A referral from another specialist is valid for 3 months only.

Psychology / Social Work Appointments:
Patients can self-refer for our psychology or social work services and will be charged privately.

Fees
When making appointments/bookings, staff can advise the expected out of pocket costs, so you are informed and prepared for your consultation.
At Pine Rivers Private Hospital, we endeavour to make our services available to as many patients as possible.
A Patient appointment reminder will be texted 5 days prior to your appointment. Please respond to this text. If you have not responded within 2 days prior to your appointment, your appointment may be cancelled.
Your attendance is important to both you and our practice. We understand that sometimes things change and you may need to reschedule or cancel your appointment.
As the availability of appointments is often scarce we ask that you please help by advising of cancellations as soon as possible. Please note that cancellations made within 48 hours or less may attract a cancellation fee.

Your initial consultation will be around 60 minutes long. Please feel free to invite a family member or friend into your consultation.
Please ensure you bring the following to your appointment:
- Your referral
- Your Medicare card
- Your private health fund card, DVA Gold card or Pensioner card (if applicable)
- A list of your current medications
- Any blood tests, other test results, previous medical records, scans etc. that might relate to your appointment if they have not been sent by your previous doctor.
